BIOGRAPHY

Trumpeter Michael Morreale is a solo artist, composer, and educator in the New York Metropolitan area leading his own jazz ensembles. As a sideman he is featured on six albums and two world tours with Joe Jackson as well as extended NYC engagements with the legendary Keely Smith. He has also performed with Chuck Wayne, Houston Person, Don Joseph, Jerry Vivino, the Turk Van Lake Orchestra, Loren Schonberg’s Orchestra, Lew Anderson’s All American band, and Tommy Igoe’s Friday Nite Band among others.

 

He also led the Staten Island Chamber Music Payers Jazz Quartet for 25 years. Michael holds a Masters in Composition from Brooklyn College, a BA in Music from CCNY and runs the jazz department at the College of Staten Island (CUNY) where he established a Concentration in Jazz studies

Michael’s latest recording venture is Vol. 4 – August 17th, this was recorded on that day in 2020 featuring Michael on trumpet (and piano on two tracks) with Bill Moring and Tim Horner. The music features compositions of Charlie Parker, Johnny Mandel, and two Morreale originals.
